Itinerary:
Day 01: San José
Upon arrival at Juan Santamaría International airport, our driver will meet and transfer you to Don Carlos Hotel in San José. The ‘Four Star’ Hotel Don Carlos is a small, but significant part of Costa Rica’s rich heritage. Once upon a time residence for two past Presidential families, the historical Hotel Don Carlos’ warmth and charm, graciously awaits you. Overnight Don Carlos Hotel.

Day 02: San José /Tortuguero
Tour to Tortuguero National Park. Typical breakfast included on the way and visit to a banana plantation. Boat transfer to your lodge. Lunch.
In the afternoon visit Tortuguero town and the small museum of the Caribbean Conservation Corporation.
Dinner. Overnight at Mawamba Lodge. |
Day 03: Tortuguero
Breakfast. Boat ride to the National Park and hidden canals and lagoons around the park. At afternoon hiking in the area. Lunch and dinner. Overnight at Mawamba Lodge.
Day 04: Tortuguero / Arenal
Breakfast. Departure to Siquirres to continue to Arenal Volcano. Box Lunch. The very active Arenal Volcano frequently emits sounds of violent explosions, attended by clouds of gray, brown, and orange gases. Overnight at Arenal Springs Hotel, which offers spectacular views of the nightly showers of lava and glowing rocks discharged from the volcano, from the private balcony. |

Day 05: Arenal
Breakfast . Visit to Arenal Volcano National Park and in the evening, visit to Tabacón hot springs, where the hot springs flow from the veins of the splendorous and active Arenal Volcano. Enjoy this natural wonder of Costa Rica and soothing feeling in any of mineral pools. Buffet dinner. Overnight at Arenal Springs Hotel.
Day 06: Arenal / Monteverde
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Monteverde Cloud Forest, where you may spot birds such as the silvery-throated jay, spangled-checked tanager, black-thighed grosbeak, and the yellow-throated finch. Free afternoon, we recommend you to visit Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, one of the richest and most diverse tropical cloud forests in the world.
Overnight at the Trapp Family Lodge. The nearest hotel to the famous Monteverde Cloud forest Reserve. The Trapp Family Lodge offers the feeling of being in the middle of a charming cloud forest.
Day 07: Monteverde
After a delicious early morning breakfast, you will be taken to Selvatura walkways; it’s an unforgettable experience, the excitement of looking to one side and seeing the tops of the trees and at the same time feel the sensation of walking among the clouds. Selvatura walkways is a unique system of suspension bridges that zigzag through deep canyons at the level of the treetops. Free afternoon. Overnight at Trapp Family Lodge.
Day 08: Monteverde /San José
Enjoy breakfast, then you will be transferred from Monteverde to San José. Overnight Don Carlos hotel.
Day 09: San José/ Home departure
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight back home.

Day 01: San José

Day 02: San José / Puerto Viejo
Delicious traditional Costa Rican breakfast along the way. Once we arrive at the verdant banks of the Pacuare River, our professional guides will instruct you on paddling techniques and safety procedures. The Pacuare is a swift flowing river that offers visitors a unique and exciting rafting experience within one of Costa Rica’s most unspoiled wilderness areas. In fact, expert rafters call the Pacuare one of the world’s best white-water runs. Lunch on the way. Continue to Puerto Viejo in Limón. Overnight at Azania Bungalows. Designed and crafted in a unique style that blends traditional materials, exotic woods and thatched-palm roofs, with a modern building concept, each bungalow has a particular atmosphere.
Day 03: Puerto Viejo
After breakfast we will pick you up to enjoy a snorkeling tour in Cahuita National Park. When we arrive to Cahuita we will receive the necessary equipment to start the snorkeling on the reef. Then we will take a boat to the litoral of the National Park. When we arrive to the reef we will enjoy the beautiful aquatic world for aprox. 2 hours. After that we will have a box lunch and later we will do a hike through the trails of the National Park. Overnight Azania bungalows.

Day 04: Puerto Viejo/ Arenal

Day 05: Arenal
After breakfast, Canopy tour. At afternoon visit to Arenal Volcano National Park. Late in the afternoon visit to Tabacón hot springs, where the hot springs flow from the veins of the splendorous and active Arenal Volcano. Buffet dinner. Overnight at Arenal Springs Hotel, who offers spectacular views of the volcano.
Day 06: Arenal/Manuel Antonio
Breakfast. Departure to Manuel Antonio National Park. Overnight Costa Verde Hotel.
Day 07: Manuel Antonio
After breakfast, Mangrove Kayaking tour: Instead of enjoying one of our most popular tours in a high-tech, ultra-quiet estuary boat on our Mangrove Boat Tour, why not experience the Damas Island Estuary and Mangrove ecosystem first hand in an open-seat kayak. Itinerary:
Day 01: San José
Upon arrival, our driver will pick you up in the airport to transfer you to the hotel. Overnight at Presidente Hotel in San José downtown.
Day 02: San José/Tortuguero
You will enjoy a delicious breakfast on the way to Tortuguero, situated on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast. Roads are scarce in this region, and you’ll navigate a system of waterways as you explore the rainforest. In Caño Blanco dock you take the boat and you’ll begin a two-hour adventure through the jungle and canals, arriving at Mawamba Lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon, you will visit the picturesque Tortuguero´s town and the small museum of the Caribbean Conservation Corporation, Dinner.
In Tortuguero you might see toucans, brightly colored macaws or even some boisterous howler monkeys traipsing through the trees. With nearly 14 miles of coastline, Tortuguero National Park is one of the most important nesting sites for four varieties of marine turtles, including the massive Green Turtle, which can weigh over 400 pounds. (From July to October).
Day 03: Tortuguero
Early in the morning, canal boat trip through the canals with the surrounding jungle. After a delicious breakfast, you will be taken a hike where you can admire the tropical rainforest. Lunch. In the afternoon you will explore other canals by boat. Dinner. Overnight at Mawamba Lodge.
Day 04: Tortuguero/Arenal
After breakfast, boat transfer to Siquirres and then land transportation to continue to Arenal Volcano, Costa Rica’s most spectacular geological attraction. The very active Arenal Volcano frequently emits sounds of violent explosions, attended by clouds of gray, brown, and orange gases. Overnight at Arenal Paraíso Hotel.
Day 05: Arenal
Breakfast in the hotel. Horseback riding to La Fortuna Waterfall, in this ride will allow you to enjoy the beauty of the Arenal area. A bird watcher’s paradise, you will have the chance to observe a large variety of colorful bird species, such as toucans and trogons. At the end of this enlightening journey you will be taken back to your hotel to visit in the afternoon Tabacón hot springs, where you can sooth your muscles in the clear, relaxing thermal springs. Overnight at Arenal Paraíso Hotel.
Day 06: Arenal /San José
Breakfast. Free morning at afternoon you will return to San José province. Overnight at Presidente Hotel.
Day 07: San José/ Poas Volcano, La Paz Waterfall Gardens and Sarapiquí
On a clear day the view of the main crater is admired by all visitors, with its diameter is considered one of the widest in the world. .As we continue towards the Caribbean zone, we will stop to discover La Paz Waterfall Gardens, a Nature Park where we will walk on the truly spectacular trails that will lead us to Magia Blanca Falls (the largest and the most spectacular of the falls in the area).

After a terrific lunch we will continue to Sarapiqui and enjoy a relaxing boat ride on the Sarapiqui River, just sit back and observe the wildlife that is around you. Before returning to San Jose we will drive through the unforgettable rain forest of Braulio Carrillo National Park, one of the most important rainforest reserves for Costa Rica. Overnight Presidente Hotel.
Day 08: San José/ Home departure
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight back home. |
